Carl’s Salon and Day Spa started in 1924, when Carl Griesser founded his hair salon in downtown Baltimore. Over the years we’ve changed locations a few times, but what hasn’t changed is the quality and expertise in hair care, hair styling, professional hair coloring, skin care and cosmetic care we offer every client. The goal of our hair salon and day spa is to ensure the complete satisfaction of every client. We’ve seen five generations of clients come through the doors of our Carl's Salon and Day Spa.

In the summer of 1933, Adolph Beicker of Philadelphia, our own Carl Griesser of Baltimore, who served as the 1st American president, Victor Herre and Emil Ludiche of New York, were granted membership and became the founding fathers of Intercoiffure America. Here at Carl’s Salon and Day Spa, we have the highest standards set forth by Intercoiffure Mondial. Intercoiffure is a powerful and influential organization of hairdressers created in Paris in 1912. The organization’s prerequisite for membership was that one had to be a salon owner of high moral and ethical character. To this day, this remains as the most basic requirement of Intercoiffure membership.
Carl’s Hair Salon and Day Spa is a fixture in Baltimore, and all of our hairstylists, colorists, estheticians and manicurists are continue to enroll in education courses, so that we stay on the cutting edge of hair styling and professional hair coloring, hair replacement, skin care, nail care and changes in cosmetics.
Voted one of Baltimore's Best in 2008, we continue to specialize in professional hair coloring, corrective coloring, hair cutting and hair styling, as well as facial treatments, body waxing, nail care, spa treatments and makeovers. With a combined total of several hundred years of experience and expertise, our hair salon and day spa professionals continue to pave the way in offering you the latest hairstyles and trends. We have more hair coloring knowledge and experience, including color correction, per square foot than any other local hair salon.
